Markets & stallholders
Market WiFi hire and rental: keep your stallholders selling
When EFTPOS drops out at a busy market, stallholders lose sales and blame the organiser. SyncSource gives your market its own internet: hire a kit for one market, or keep one on lease and plug it in every market day. We handle the SIMs, Starlink and monitoring.

Why markets need their own internet
Most markets rely on stallholders' own phones and EFTPOS terminals. That works until the crowd arrives. Hundreds or thousands of phones on the same mobile tower slow everything down, and payments start timing out at the busiest hour of the day. Regional markets and showgrounds have the opposite problem: not enough signal to begin with.
A SyncSource market kit uses a business-grade 5G router with a proper external antenna, and adds Starlink as a backup for sites with poor or crowded reception. Stallholders connect to a dedicated EFTPOS network that isn't shared with the public, so payments go through even when the crowd is heavy.
How the lease works
You keep the kit at your market. Before each market day you charge the power pack, then set up the tripod, switch the kit on and it connects by itself. We look after everything else: the SIM plans, the Starlink subscription, firmware updates and remote monitoring. If a network has problems on the day, we see it and can help by phone.
Leases run for 3, 6 or 12 months, with lower monthly pricing for longer terms. If your market grows, we swap the kit for a bigger one or add WiFi points and bridges, rather than starting again.

FAQ
Common questions
How many stallholders can connect?
A standard kit comfortably handles a small to medium market with EFTPOS and staff use. For larger markets we add access points to spread the load and place them where the stalls are. Tell us your stall count and layout and we'll size it.
Is Starlink needed at every market?
No. Many city markets have enough 5G coverage, and the 5G kit is cheaper. Starlink makes sense at regional and showground sites, and at very large markets where the towers get overloaded. Our free signal check tells you which fits.
What happens if the power pack runs out?
A full charge runs the 5G kit for well over a market day. Kits with Starlink use more power, so for long days or back-to-back events we add a second power pack. If site power is available, the kit can run from mains instead.
Can stallholders stream video on the WiFi?
The stallholder network is set up for payments and general use, with limits so one person can't use up everyone's data. If your market wants to livestream, tell us and we'll size the plan for it.
Can you set it up for us the first time?
Yes. For Brisbane and South East Queensland we can come to your first market, position the WiFi points and tune the connection on site. For markets further away, the kit arrives pre-configured and we support you by phone.
Who is responsible for the kit during a lease?
You look after it between market days and it's covered by a refundable bond. Fair wear is expected; loss or damage beyond that is charged. Details are in the lease agreement.
